This year the WCCDA held its second annual PRIDE event on June 12th, 2022from 4 - 7:00pm at the Greenbridge Plaza titled “Loud N Proud!” Celebrating people as they are with entertainment and unity with the White Center community. Considering everything going on in today’s society, we took it upon ourselves to focus on a big theme: Mental Health. With that being said, we wanted to create a space for theLGBTQ+ community to truly feel like they belong in White Center by highlighting local queer and trans entertainers, vendors, and resources!
Event Highlights
STARTING WITH OUR PERFORMERS:
We also had our amazing food vendor “Carver Kitchen ''serving burgers, hotdogs, chips, and drinks!➢DJ Pheloneous was spinnin’ the hits!
Our LGBTQ+ division started selling “Loud N Proud” merch for the first time!
We had over 70+ attendees (doubling our attendance from last year)!!!
Our small queer and trans business vendors made hundreds of dollars(combined)!
SHOUTOUT TO OUR VENDORS:
We’d like to thank the generous Coalition for Drug Free Youth for providing $1,500 towards helping us create this event, a BIG thank you to the Carver Kitchen for feeding our community members, all of the performers + vendors for coming through and showing out, DJ Pheloneous for being our event DJ and keeping the energy up, last but DEFINITELY not least thank YOU for coming! We can’t wait to come back and throw another “Loud N Proud” next year! See you then!
